How do you choose a wetsuit?
How warm you are going to be in your wetsuit depends on a couple of specs concerning the wetsuit thickness, location of the zip, how the wetsuit fits you and the style. When choosing one for you, you are looking for a wetsuit that fits like a glove; but also doesn`t limit your movement in any way.
First and foremost, the neoprene thickness is of great importance. Neoprene is the material from which wetsuits are made and depending on its thickness, you either feel a bit chilling or perfectly fine. However, the different areas of the wetsuit have different thickness. The arms and legs get wrapped up in a thinner layer of neoprene while the breasts, stomach and shoulders in the thickest. This way, you have a full range of motion in the arms. The thickness is measured in millimetres, and the usual range is between 2-4 mm.
Why is it a good idea to invest in a proper wetsuit?
At sea, around a lake or on a river you can have tons of fun. And while in the mentioned places you practice different water sports, you always have to have a wetsuit.
